Hi Kevin. I posted a comment that appears to have disappeared. Check your wiki maybe...I forgot to say that so far yours is the only one to attach a rubric and that is to the good. Parents and kids alike like those to they have some feel for expectation.
I posted a large response that was lost due to my inability to do basic human tasks. I'll try to recap:
1. I like the video's content and its application to real life. Students are forced to analyze their own global impact as consumers.
2. I asked about political pushback and what strategies you would use for any concerns from parents.
3. I suggested incorporating more about the actual editing process when creating a video like this. Obviously editing is what makes the video function as a single piece, but I'm curious if 8th graders are familiar enough with the power of editing to manipulate emotions and expectations.
